Our rescue society is 100% foster home based.
This means that all our animals live in homes rather than a facility. As a result, foster homes are vital to our success.

Why Foster?
–The amount of animals we can save directly depends on the amount of foster homes we have.
–You will feel great! Fostering is one of the most important and rewarding jobs in rescue!
–Fostering increases the likelihood of adoption and dramatically reduces the chances of an animal being returned.
–It’s fun!! You get to show and teach your foster animal what it is to be a happy, loved family pet.
Requirements for Fostering
–Must be 18 years of age or older to apply and all members of the household in agreement.
–All current animals in the home must be up-to-date on their vaccinations (some exceptions allowed).
–All current animals in the home must be spayed/neutered, unless reasonable explanation (e.g. medical condition).
–Must have reliable transportation to bring foster animals to appointments at the vet and/or adoption events.
–Ideally a fenced yard for dog foster homes, but this can depend on the circumstances and type of dogs.
Responsibilities of a Foster Home
–Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
–Provide exercise, socialization and enrichment opportunities.
–Have patience and understanding while your foster animal adjusts to a new home.
–Take your foster animal to vet appointment if required.
–Work with the EARS team (particularly the dog/cat intake coordinator) to provide a bio and photos of your foster animal.
–When an application has been approved, work with the EARS team to conduct home checks and facilitate meet and greets with potential adopters.
EARS Foster Process
Once you submit a Foster Application, we will arrange for a home check to make sure your living area is safe for the animal. We will then have a meet & greet between your family/pets & the new foster animal. We will do our best to make sure the animal will be compatible with your lifestyle. EARS will provide all food, litter, toys, crates and pays for any necessary veterinary bills.
