Rescue Story:
Will was surrendered to the Fort McMurray SPCA but were unsuccessful finding him a home. Will came to EARS to see if a fresh start in a new area would turn his luck around.

Will is very smart, great with other dogs, and extremely loyal. True to his breed he is skeptical and suspicious of strangers and needs careful and slow introductions, which makes some people uncomfortable, but he improved greatly during his time at the shelter. He ignores strangers on a walk and is great on a leash. Will needs a family who has time and space to suit his needs, as well as be willing to work with him. He requires confident handlers who understand his nature and his body language and will not hesitate when it comes to training. Will is not meant for a family that is absent most of the day; boredom from being alone for long periods will lead him to guard his surroundings and intensify unwanted behaviours. Will would do best as in indoor dog with the company of his people, but will need lots of space or opportunity to burn off energy. He is a very playful and happy dog once he’s comfortable with his surroundings.
